Simple Seed is an incremental game about the history of the universe, from a flicker of energy before the Big Bang to life on a world you choose.

Real physics, real numbers. When matter and antimatter annihilate, about one particle in a billion survives. That surplus becomes everything there is: roughly 10^80 atoms.

Three Acts: the Big Bang, the stars, and life.

Choose the laws of physics, seed new universes, and earn Constants that carry over.

Keeps going while you’re away.

can't figure out how to make the tree grow in the tree growing chapter. it only shows cells as planned. says tap cells to water but theres no water everything outside of the trunk is unknown

Hi karriekitty, can you send a screenshot?

Also how did you get to that stage already? It should take quite a while... This sounds like I messed up the web version.

If you found a workaround please explain to me how you got there this fast, I'm still developing the game so any feedback is highly appreciated

i sped it up the spreading stage was too slow. all the stages except tree were running properly all i did was speed them up they were too slow. as you can see here the cell is tapped but there is no way to make it do anything and there are no blue cells around. the water and sugar ticking isn't doing anything. i started the game over and im going to avoid speeding it up

Your water supply is fine, even without a direct source, there is a small amount of water in the soil itself, same for the basic nutrients like K and P

As you can see you get X amount per minute already

It is possible that the speedup broke some mechanism.

Also in the beginning you can only build 1 thing at a time, if you built too much canopy but don't have enough sugar for it, it will block the root development

With the X you can stop all the planned ones

Try to build 4 roots and 4 leaves in the canopy first

Then when you get some sunlight in, roots are more important

what makes it build on a planned cell instead of saying its idle?

The tree doesn't grow idle, it only grows on planned cells

Nutrients pile up idle though.

And you can plan ahead and the tree will keep going while offline, assuming you put seeds into speed of light.

You can plan ahead a lot, there is no limit

You can give it hundreds of cells to grow into and then go offline

But it'll stop if you hit a cell you currently can't grow into. E.g. air in the beginning, hard minerals, lava....

an incremental game that starts before the Big Bang and runs on real physics numbers is such a neat concept, and that surplus becomes everything there is is a great line. quick one when you seed a new universe, do the laws of physics you pick actually change how the Acts play out, or mainly what Constants you carry over? free with no ads or data collection is a big plus too!

Hi Janett, thanks for your comment

The laws you pick speed up certain mechanics, you can pick lawn that suits idle gameplay more or active gameplay or early game vs late game...

When you seed the universe you can pick new laws or the same ones again.

ohh that's a cool way to add replayability haha! so each universe can develop differently depending on whether u want a more idle focused or active playstyle do u find yourself experimenting with different laws when playing, or do u usually stick with the same setup once u find one that works?

That depends a lot on the player.

When I do quick act 1 runs I choose the same but when I plan for a long run I choose different ones.

It is possible to preset them once they are discovered .

Once you are set on going deep into act 3 you don't need to seed the universe anymore, you play in the universe you build going forward.

the focus shifts from experimenting with new universes to developing the one you've already built. that's a really interesting progression haha btw, i've really enjoyed chatting with u about your games haha would u be comfy continuing our little game dev convo on another platform? no pressure at all if you'd rather stay here!

Thanks and yes, the games goes through different stages.

I also play my own game on Google play store right now and going for the intelligent tree at the moment

I have played through everything on a higher speed setting during development but real time takes quite a bit.

I love feedback and ideas about my game, for that I'd prefer to stay in this platform.

But please share anything you want.
